Adobe Issues Fix for Latest Critical Flash Player Vulnerability

Image
Adobe has rolled out a security update to patch the critical zero-day security flaw in Adobe Flash player. The out-of-the-band update was released just days after Adobe released its scheduled monthly update last week. Notably, after reports of the vulnerability last week, Apple had said it would roll out a fix next week. With the fix released on Friday itself however, Adobe has evidently fast-tracked the development. The patch updates Flash for Windows and OS X to version dubbed 19.0.0.226 and its Linux counterpart to version dubbed 11.2.202.540. Adobe credited Trend Micro researcher Peter Pi, and Google's Project Zero, for discovering the vulnerability. Last week, security researchers reported a critical vulnerability in Flash Player that affected every version of the media player across many desktop operating systems. Paytm Expands Platform to Include Hotel Bookings

Image
Digital payments company Paytm has expanded its platform to allow customers to make hotel bookings and expects revenue of Rs. 500 crores from the service over the next six months. The Alibaba-backed company has partnered with players like Goibibo, Ezeego1 and TSI-Yatra for the new service. "Travel has emerged as a very important category for us as the penetration of online booking is still very low in this vertical. The opportunity for the hotels category is immense, especially because the transaction penetration is still low in Tier II and III cities as far as travel concerned," Paytmfounder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma told PTI. With the launch of this segment, Paytm will drive usage from these areas, causing a huge disruption in the travel space, he added. "We expect this segment to contribute Rs. 500 crores to the revenue over the next six months," he said. Currently, the eCommerce platform also allows users to book bus tickets. "In the first pha

iOS 9 Mail app lets you draw on image attachments. Here's how you do that

Image
Another day, another not-so-obvious iOS 9 feature goes under the spotlight. In the paragraphs below, we'll show you how to edit images prior to sending them. No, you don't do that in your device's gallery application. Third-party image editing apps aren't involved in this guide either. Instead, all the action happens in your iPhone or iPad's stock Mail client. Yup, iOS' pre-loaded Mail app lets you draw on and add text labels to image attachments. You may also save your signature and imprint it onto an image or a scanned document, perhaps. Here's how you do all that. Let's say that you've already started writing a new email and you've attached an image to it. Tap on the image – this will cause a pop-up menu to appear. Choose "Markup". Okay, now you should be in a whole new screen with your image in the middle and a bunch of buttons at the bottom. By default, the brush is highlighted and ready to be used with
