iPhone 7 and 7 Plus prices allegedly leak ahead of unveiling

Image
The run-up to this year's iPhone launch has delivered the usual array of twists and turns. The general consensus seems to be that both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will appear similar to their respective predecessors, with a few welcome changes and improvements under the hood. It also looks like Apple will bump the entry-level models up to 32 GB, which makes sense given that apps and games regularly creep into the multiple gigabytes. How such enhancements will affect the cost to the consumer, we cannot say for certain. But a purported leak of the retail prices for China does offer food for thought. The September 7th date is now set in stone for the big event, at which Cupertino is expected to take the wraps off a number of new products in one fell swoop. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will unquestionably take center stage, as ever, and according to a recent tidbit, there could be as many as five color options at launch. A key factor for many prospective buyers will be how much the latest

The event will hold at 10:00 A.M. at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

New Renders of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Surface online

Image
We have had several image renders of the expected Xiaomi Mi Note 2, detailing the design features as well as the specs of the flagship device. Several more are still surfacing online and thankfully, the designs all look alike, revealing the dual cameras and beautiful body design. The recently leaked image renders of the Mi Note 2 is that of a sleek black colored variant and it reveals both the design up front and the rear design as well. On the front view, the curved glass display is still very much intact, as well as the positioning of the front facing camera sensor. Nothing really has changed front the previous leaks we have seen so far. At the back, there is a dual camera set up, with both cameras lying side by side on a horizontal plane and tilted to one edge of the phone. The camera’s LED flash also sits by the side of the second camera. Curiously, the Mi trademark logo is conspicuously missing on the back of the new image renders which makes the authenticity of this render q

Android 6.0 Beta Testing for Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon to Begin Soon

Image
Folks who own the Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon and Mediatek) that have updated to MIUI 8 must have noticed that the android version is still stuck on Lollipop. It’s actually sad, knowing that one of the best selling Redmi phones is still running lollipop when Android 7.0 Nougat has already been released. MIUI’s operations manager @RanGer posted on Weibo that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being developed for the Snapdragon version of the Redmi Note 3. He mentioned that beta testing was supposed to begin yesterday but due to some problems that have not been ironed out, the beta program has been postponed. There is no news yet on the new date, so if you are eager to start testing, you might want to exercise a little bit of patience. In the mean time, you can keep yourself busy by trying out the new features of MIUI 8. The post however makes no mention of the mediatek version. There are tens of thousands of people who own the Helio X10 version of the Redmi Note 3 (yours truly included) and it

Two Android-Based Nokia Smartphones Spotted on GeekBench

Image
It is getting more and more certain that Nokia will start rolling out its Nokia branded Android phones under the new partnership arrangement with Helsinki-based HMD Global Oy. A Nokia Exec had also hinted earlier on that the Nokia Android phones may likely pop in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year. Well, we just might see that happen soon as two new Nokia smartphones running on Android operating system has appeared on Benchmark website Geekbench revealing some of the specs which isn’t in any way similar to the few rumored specs we had gotten before now. The Nokia smartphones bore the model names, Nokia 5320 and Nokia RM-1490. Nokia 5320 is listed as sporting a 2.27GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. The clocking frequency of the Nokia 5320 resembles that of a high-end chipset but the small RAM size is a turn off. Perhaps it is possible to ramp up the RAM size in the coming days since this is just a prototype. The Nokia 5320 is also listed to run on Android 4.4.4 operating system

iPhone 7 May Have 256GB Version and Even a New Name

Image
Back when the first iPhone was launched, 16GB was a lot of storage, but in the last 2 years, fans of the Cupertino-based company have complained about the company still launching 16GB phones which just doesn’t cut it anymore. If the rumours are to be believed, the iPhone 7s (sevens) will come with 32GB storage on the base models. However, it seems the company is raising the maximum storage available on an iPhone. An image of a leaked assembly sheet posted by twitter account, @the_malignant shows that there will be a 256GB version of the iPhone 7. The spec sheet shows that the 256GB NAND chips will be supplied by Toshiba and confirms that there will be 32GB and 128GB versions (no 64GB) which will be supplied by an unnamed manufacturer. While @the_malignant has leaked details for other phones that did turn out to be true, there is still no evidence that the assembly sheet is for Apple. Experts say the PCB format does follow Apple’s guidance, but it is also similar to that of other F

Alleged Le 2S Pro Images Leaked: Reveals Simple Metal Body, Snapdragon 820 & 4GB RAM

Image
We know that LeEco is busy preparing for the launch of its new smartphone in September, most likely the Le 2S Pro. There have been several indicators pointing towards this device, like the Weibo post by LeEco executive made by the Le 2S Pro and the numerous other screenshot leaks and image leaks which allege to be of the Le 2S Pro. Yes, now you must be confused as to why we are calling this the Le 2S Pro. This is because, earlier today, the Weibo post made by the Le 2S Pro from the company executive kind of confirmed the name. So, we are now going to call the upcoming phone as the Le 2S Pro and not the Le 2S as previously reported. Maybe, there will be both, Le 2S and Le 2S Pro but at this point, let’s assume that there is just one model, the Le 2S Pro. The latest leak reveals the back and the side of the upcoming Le 2S Pro smartphone. Surprisingly, there’s nothing new to see. Just a traditional metallic design (so no revolutionary design as hinted by the executive earlier today). T

Almost a year after it’s release, OnePlus is breathing new life into the OnePlus X by announcing the release of Oxygen 3.1 Community Build which brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the smallest OnePlus phone. While it may be a little late in coming as Google officially released Android 7.0 Nougat yesterday, the announcement might spur some folks who don’t want something big to pick up the device. OnePlus community builds are similar to beta releases before the final and official release. As with all beta releases, there are always issues that haven’t been ironed out. OnePlus says users may experience issues like network stability in select regions, third party apps compatibility, and language localisation. OS 3.1 will bring new features like new icon packs, a new wallpaper picker, new customisation for the alert slider, and changes to Shelf UX, apart from the default marshmallow ones. If You Break Your Galaxy Note 7’s Screen, Go Buy A Brand New Xiaomi Mi5!

Image
Smartphone screens are one of the most important components of new-age handsets. If we jump up the screen size from 4-inches to 6.44-inches, there would still be a few options for customers and note that we are still talking about phones and not tablets. We all know the massive Xiaomi Mi Max with its 6.44-inch display and some of you may think, who would be crazy enough to buy this giant smartphone. Well, as we revealed before, turns out, quite a lot of people love the large screen size, and the sales of this relatively new phablet could have very well crossed the 1.5 million mark within two months of its launch. There is no doubt that Samsung dominates the smartphone industry with its super popular Galaxy series. And the latest Galaxy Note 7 is one of the best phablets with an amazing display, probably the best in the market right now. However, the curved edge screen and the waterproofing technology does come at a cost, and if by chance, you happen to break the screen on the No
