The MIUI 8 itself has been adapted for about 100 brands including those in China and abroad as well as popular brands. Lenovo’s Vice-President Leaked Real Images of ZUK Edge Launching Next Week

Image
Lenovo‘s ZUK Edge flagship is one of the devices currently making waves even before they are released. The device wasa recently spotted on AnTuTu where it was revealed to have the Snapdragon 821 chip onboard. Images of the sleek and stunning looking device had appeared online before now, revealing its unique design. Again, renders of the device has leaked right from the doorstep of Lenovo’s vice-President on Weibo. The images further reveal the ZUK Edge’s design captured from both the front and back sides of the device. The most stunning feature should be the ultra thin bezels at the sides of the display which make the device looks like the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept phone. That is because the device is composed almost entirely of the display at the front as a result of the tiny bezels. There is a physical home button up front, though, which also functions as a fingerprint sensor. The flagship device also has a front camera at the top. There is no doubt this is the real device as t

Xiaomi Internet Speaker Launched for ¥399 ($58)

Image
Xiaomi is not new to making audio devices. They have a bunch of speakers and their Piston earphone line is doing well. However, very few people know they also make wireless internet radios/speakers. Earlier this year Xiaomi released internet radio with touch controls on the top and a cute little red switch at the top right corner. To use it, you had to pair it to your phone via the Mi Home App before getting access to online stations. After which you could choose to use the red button to switch stations or keep using your phone. The speaker however has its disadvantages. It doesn’t have a built-in battery, so you to have to plug it to a wall outlet or a power bank anytime you want to use it. You also couldn’t use it like a regular speaker. The company released a new internet speaker that solves almost all of the problems above and does a lot more. Technical Specifications The Xiaomi Internet Speaker is big and weighs 1.6kg. It has an Amlogc 8726M3 Cortex A9 processor and su

Xiaomi Announces it will Attend and Launch a New Product at CES 2017

Image
The major tech events are the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) and Mobile World Congress (MWC) which hold in Las Vegas and Barcelona respectively. Both events are big deals for mobile phone manufacturers and some manufacturers have never attended one or both before. However, that will be changing for one of them as Xiaomi just announced that they will be attending next year’s edition of CES. The announcement was made a few hours ago on the company’s official Weibo page. CES 2017 will hold in Nevada, starting on the 5th and ending on the 8th of January. Xiaomi has also announced that its CES debut will see them launch a new product. We have no clue as to what the product is but they say it’s a product that shows how the company is pushing the boundaries of innovation. Following the unexpected announcement of the Mi MIX, its hard to guess what this new product might be, but we have faith it will be trending after its announcement. Does this move signify the company’s foray into the

Nokia Confirms Return to Smartphones in 2017

Image
News of Nokia’s return to smartphone manufacturing has been going round for a while but the company didn’t confirm when that would happen, not until a few days ago during an event. The former tech giant has an annual event called Capital Markets Day (CMD) where they review the company’s strategy, operations, and financial targets. This year’s edition was held in Barcelona and a slide shown at the event states that 2017 will be the year of (the) "Nokia brand’s return to smartphones". Like previous rumors have already stated, Nokia would not be making the smartphones itself but it will be working in collaboration with Finnish company, HMD Global, and Taiwanese company; Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, which we all know as Foxconn. Nokia will provide patents which HMD will use to develop, market, and sell Nokia-branded phones and accessories. Foxconn on the other hand will handle manufacturing and research and development (R&D). The agreement will run for a period of ten

OnePlus 3 and 3T will be getting Android Nougat 7.0 in December

Image
OnePlus’s latest smartphone was announced a couple of days ago and one disappointing feature is the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS the device was still stuck on. The OnePlus 3T was thought to come running Google’s latest Android version but that did not end up happening. Not for long though, as OnePlus has indicated that it is planning to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat on the OnePlus 3T in December. The latest flagship will get the upgrade alongside the OnePlus 3 which had long been teased as getting Android N soon. The OnePlus 3 will start receiving the beta version of Android N later this month but OnePlus has confirmed that the 3T won’t get that. However, that will not stop Android N update from rolling out on the 3T when the company starts pushing the update next month. The company also disclosed that bot the OnePlus 3 and 3T would get updates at the same time in the future. The OnePlus 3T features just a slight upgrade in its hardware from that of the OnePlus 3, if not, both mo

ZUK Edge leaks in Spy Photo: Sports Large Home Button

Image
Lenovo-owned ZUK has a new phone called the ZUK Edge which might be released anytime soon. Today a leaked image of what is suspected to be the new device leaked online. The new phone is called Edge and the general belief is that it should have a curved display, right? But surprisingly this phone doesn’t have a curved display. If we were to relate the name to it probably having no bezels like an edge-to-edge display, it still doesn’t fit as the phone still has bezels on all sides and the fact that this is a white unit also lets us see that black ugly bar that goes around the display. So why is the phone called the ZUK Edge? We have no idea. However, one thing we can see from the image is that it sports a large physical home button. This is not surprising as the screen is said to be 5.5-inches in size, so using a large home button that can be easily reached irrespective of the size of the user’s hand is the right thing to do. The ZUK Edge is expected to have a 1080p display, Snap

Xiaomi Mi Mix Mini Leaked in Live Pictures

Image
Xiaomi gifted us the Mi Mix and at the same time gave us the impression that the device was a concept phone that would be limited in production by the ceramic glass body it featured and the device is indeed scarce. Well, it seems the company is coming up with something to make up for the scarcity of the Mi Mix, as latest leaked renders suggest a Xiaomi Mi Mix mini version is allegedly in the works. The renders, which we cannot verify their authenticity, seems to pitch the mini Mi Mix with the original Xiaomi Mix. The shots are a bit blurred or too distant to be able to make out in clear terms, the features of the device. But from the little we can see, the device seems not to possess any button on the display According to the leak, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Mini goes by the code-name “Nano” and sports a smaller 5.5-inch display when compared to the 6.44-inch Mi Mix. The Mi Mix Mini is also rumored to come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which implies there is an Adreno

Xiaomi Meri Real Machine Spotted, Geekbench Scores & Other Details Revealed

Image
Xiaomi just released the Mi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mix as well as the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A not too long ago, but it seems the tech giant isn’t done yet with smartphone releases for this year. This is because the device identified as Xiaomi Meri which did appear on AnTuTu and GeekBench is back in the news. It would be recalled that the Xiaomi Meri came with a surprisingly new in-house processor said to have been developed by Xiaomi. Now, a set of leaked images have explicitly showed the Meri’s performance while running GeekBench 4.0 test, something it did in October. While these images and data are not new, they come with some added information. As would be recalled, the device manages a total score of 758 on the single-core test while it did poll 3105 points on the multi-core test. When compared to the AnTuTu result of 63581, it seems very likely that the device would be using a low-end processor. Now a new leaked information has revealed that the Xiaomi Meri would come in Rose

MIUI Product Manager Reveals More MIUI 9 Details

Image
Xiaomi is actively working on the next version of its MIUI ROM and in a question and answer session with its product manager, @Little Lulu Mima, we learnt about new features coming to MIUI 9. In terms of optimisation, MIUI 9 will have a simpler UI compared to previous versions. There will also be improvements in performance and reduction in power consumption and by heating. In other news, Xiaomi India posted on twitter that they are currently looking for Xiaomi Mi 5 owners who are willing to be alpha testers for MIUI 8 based on Android Nougat. Android 7.0 Nougat Beta Update for Xiaomi Mi 5?

Image
It’s been a couple of months since Google released its latest version of android and based on the latest fragmentation report, Nougat is available on only 0.3% of android devices, which is pretty sad. However a few manufacturers are already releasing beta updates for select devices before a final release is rolled out. One of those manufacturers is Xiaomi as there is already an Android 7.0 beta page on the MIUI forum for Xiaomi Mi 5. The page which is for recruiting beta testers for the new update is still not accessible to most users but one important detail gotten is that the beta update may be our first look at MIUI 9. While this is good news for those who own the Mi 5, it is a sign that Nougat may only be available to other Xiaomi flagships like the Mi 5s, Mi Note 2, and Xiaomi Mi Mix while the other mid-range devices will remain on older versions of android, although they might get updated to MIUI 9. This is not surprising as it will be near impossible for a company that chu

Image

However apart from releasing the above-mentioned devices, the tech giant also unveiled a China-exclusive model, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro at the event today. Since two of the models were already released internationally, you must already be familiar with their design and specs. As for the Mate 9 Pro, take it as a Mate 9 Porsche Design variant, without the Porsche branding to inflate the price. Here are the key differences between the three models. The Huawei Mate 9 comes with a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a rear placed fingerprint sensor. There are six color options for this standard model including mocha gold, champagne gold, silver moonlight, ceramic white, gray sky and bright black.
