After soo many leaks and news about upcoming Mi 5C, finally Xiaomi unveiled its Xiaomi Mi 5C. And just as expected, the Mi 5C is the first smartphone to feature Xiaomi’s newly announced Pinecone S1 / Surge S1 chipset. The phone is essentially a mid-ranger, but the design and the overall looks of the phone are pretty top-notch. The Xiaomi Mi 5C comes in multiple color options, including gold, black, and pink. We expected the chip to be called as the Pinecone processor but the company is probably giving it a different name, the Xiaomi Surge S1. Now, now note that this is the direct translation of “澎湃S1” and the official English name could be Xiaomi Pinecone S1 or even Pengpai S1 (since 澎湃 is Pengpai in Chinese). We’ll get the official details on the name soon, but let’s focus on the specs and features of the Pinecone S1 chipset. Nokia which comes under HMD Global has confirmed that the Nokia smartphones will be surely launched in India in June. ZTE on Sunday, unveiled its first 5G-capable smartphone, the ZTE Gigabit Phone. The phone is said to be capable of achieving an ultra-fast download speed of up to 1Gbps using carrier aggregation. Some screenshots shared by Twitter user WABetaInfo, who has previously provided several correct leaks regarding WhatsApp, indicate that WhatsApp might bring the old text statuses back with a new feature to the app called 'Tagline'. With the leaked Tagline feature, just like before, users appear to be able put up a message with text and emojis on their profile. Vodafone Private Recharge Mode (PRM) – a free of cost service for West Bengal subscribers, enables users to recharge their mobile phones, without sharing their mobile numbers with retailers. To avail the Vodafone PRM option, a customer needs to send a toll free SMS – ‘Private’ – to 12604 and would be provided with an OTP, which can be used for subsequent recharges till midnight of the same day at any multi-brand outlets.
