Coolpad has launched its flagship smartphone in India, the Coolpad Max, priced at Rs. 24,999. It will be available exclusively from Amazon India from 12pm May 30 in Rose Gold and Royal Gold colours. The Coolpad Max runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop overlaid with the company's CoolUI 8.0. The smartphone has dual-SIM dual-standby capabilities which means that the user could use both the SIM cards at the same time. Apart from having dual-SIM and dual standby support, the smartphone also offers a 'Dual in One' system. It sports a separate external system and a secure, encrypted internal system. This enables Dual Spaces, with one section for office apps and the other for personal apps. It also bears a fingerprint sensor on the back panel that is claimed to work with wet fingers as well. Lenovo has launched the Zuk Z1 smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 13,499. The smartphone will be available on its first flash sale at 2pm on May 19 via Amazon India , with registration beginning on Tuesday at 1pm. The biggest highlight of the Lenovo Zuk Z1 is that it runs Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which means that users will get many options to customise their phones. Under the hood, the Lenovo Zuk Z1 smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz alongside Adreno 330 graphics, coupled with 3GB of RAM. Xiaomi at its Tuesday event in China unveiled its new MIUI 8 ROM. The Chinese company apart from the new ROM also revealed the new Mi Max smartphone. The new Xiaomi Mi Max featuring a massive 6.44-inch full-HD (1080x1920) 342ppi display will be the biggest smartphone in the company's lineup in terms of screen size. Xiaomi in a tweet, wrote, "Meet #MiMax, our largest smartphone yet." The Xiaomi Mi Max sports an all-metal body and will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver colours. HTC this year with the launch of its HTC 10 smartphone appeared set to ditch the 'One' moniker it has been using for its last three flagships. However, the Taiwanese company appears to be keeping the 'One' series alive for mid-range smartphones by introducing theHTC One S9. The new metal-clad smartphone is listed for EUR 499 (roughly Rs. 33,700) on the company's Germany website without any availability details. Talking about the design, the HTC One S9 features nearly the same design as last year's One M9. While the back panel looks similar, there is a slight change at the front. Asus on Monday launched a refreshed version of its ZenFone Go 4.5 smartphone in India. The new Asus ZenFone Go 4.5 (ZB452KG) will be going on sale in two different camera variants. The first featuring a 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera has been priced at Rs. 5,299, while the second variant featuring an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera has been priced at Rs. 5,699. China-based tech firm LeEco on Wednesday took the wraps off its three new next-generation smartphones at a launch event in China. Called the Le Max 2, Le 2, and Le 2 Pro, the smartphones are the successors to the Le Max, Le 1, and Le 1 Pro smartphones launched last year. The company says these three smartphones are the world's first to forgo a typical 3.5mm headphone jack and instead feature USB Type-C audio connector. The metal-clad handsets unveiled in an event in Beijing run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with Emotion UI 5.6.01 skin on top. The three smartphones will also be compatible with the VR headset the company introduced at the same event, set to launch in China in May. Vivo has launched two new smartphones in China, the Vivo X6S and Vivo X6S Plus. Like their predecessors that were launched in December last year, the Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus, the two smartphones are nearly indistinguishable with almost identical specifications. Also like their predecessors, the Vivo X6S and Vivo X6S Plus are music-focused smartphones with DACs and signal processors, and bare much the same specifications as the previous generation. The smartphones are also one more nearly identical to the iPhone 6 in terms of looks. For now, no pricing or availability information has been provided by Vivo. Xiaomi has launched the Mi 5 flagship smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 24,999. The company has so far only brought a single variant of the smartphone in India, what was unveiled as the 'standard edition' in China, featuring 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The smartphone will be available in its first flash sale on Mi.com from April 6. It will be available via Xiaomi's e-commerce a few weeks later. Samsung's 3G-capable Gear S2 Classic, a traditional-looking smartwatch that can handle data transfer in the absence of a connected smartphone, launches today in the US. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile will all support the device on their wireless networks. AT&T and Verizon started accepting pre-orders for the a few weeks ago. AT&T is pricing the 3G Samsung Gear S2 Classic at $250 with a 2-year service agreement, while Verizon has the wearable on sale at $350 on a 2-year contract or $400 outright. Chinese telecommunications giant ZTE earlier this week made its Blade D2 smartphone available to buy in Vietnam. It has now launched another smartphone in Japan, the Blade V580, listing it on the region-specific website. The ZTE Blade V580 can be pre-ordered only in Japan for now with a price tag of JPY 27,800 (roughly Rs. 16,600). It will start shipping from March 25 this year.
