Sony Xperia M Ultra With 16-Megapixel Selfie Camera Leaked

A new Sony Xperia smartphone dubbed Xperia M Ultra has been rumoured to launch soon.

The smartphone was leaked by a tipster on Weibo, and is claimed to feature an impressive 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

According to tipster HQ Vision, the Sony Xperia M Ultra features a 6-inch full-HD Triluminos display and will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC under the hood. Other specifications tipped include 23-megapixel dual-rear camera; fingerprint scanner; USB Type-C, 4280mAh battery with Quick Charging 3.0 support; 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of inbuilt storage.

We'd like to remind readers however, all these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as Sony has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device beyond teasing how good it will be, and the legitimacy of the leaks remains questionable.

The Japanese smartphone giant has so far launched the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultrasmartphones in its Xperia Ultra range of phones.

A recent leak claimed Sony may be planning to launch its first smartphone featuring a High Dynamic Range (HDR) supported display. The rumoured smartphone was said to be Sony's next X-series smartphone the Xperia X Premium, which actually would be the successor to the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The report added that Sony Xperia X Premium would offer 1,000 nits of brightness which could go up to a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits. Some of the other features said to be present in the Xperia X Premium included support for displaying 1.07 billion colours.
