No Man's Sky Release Date Finally Confirmed

After gaming blog Kotaku revealed that space survival game No Man's Sky would be delayed to July or August of this year and an employee at Canadian retailer EB Games postedmarketing materials proving it would be out earlier, developer Hello Games has finally laid any doubt on No Man's Sky's release date to rest.

Studio Founder Sean Murray took to Sony's blog to confirm that the game is delayed and revealed when you can expect it to hit the shelves, both digital and physical.

"After a short delay, No Man's Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12," his post reads. The reason for the delay was to allow for extra time to fine tune some of the game's elements.

"The game really has come together, and it's such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We're actually doing this," Murray writes. "However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special."

What this means is Indian gamers can expect No Man's Sky in line with its European release of August 10, as the country falls in line with Europe's release schedule for Sony. It will cost Rs. 3,999 at retail and is available for pre-order digitally for Rs. 3,499 via PSN.

At the time of writing this, the PC version still sports the old June 24 date. Safe to say that will be updated soon enough to match the PS4 release of the game.
