MIUI 8: How will you customize your Quick Ball?

MIUI 8 is under development and is set to launch mid-August. Just a month away, this post will take a sneak peek into the "Quick ball" feature that is set to be introduced in MIUI 8. Quick ball is a floating virtual key, fully customizable touch assistant. 


The touch assistant can be activated by going over to the:

Settings-->Additional settings-->Quick ball>turn on Quick ball

On pressing the key (Quick ball), five different options pop up. 

These options can be customized (in the settings mentions above) as direct links to apps, games, camera and even settings can be relocated to anywhere on the screen. This feature will particularly stand out for phones with large display screen by easing the navigation. 

Additionally, the quick ball can be disabled (hidden automatically) for select apps, for example when using camera, using video playback apps, music player or playing games, the Quick ball is hidden when the app launches and returns to the display when the app is switched or closed.

Here's how the customization page looks like:

I have been using this feature for a while and have set it to the functions I don’t use very often, but only from time to time.
1. Clearing the cache – helps to clear off used up space, very handy as I no longer have to open up any app or setting regarding this.
2. Rotate on/off option- Switch between the modes as and when required, especially when reading and browsing.
3. Notes – I have a habit of jotting down anything notable that I come across, so this app comes very handy.
4. Shadow fight 2 – Occasional gaming I indulge myself with.
5. YouTube – Quick access to the app as and when I switch to Wi-Fi enabled environment.
