Finally we brought some good news for all Xiaomi fans waiting out there. MIUI 9 update has been out as a Beta ROM currently and we can hope for the stable ROM to be release soon as well.
Is it stable ROM?
No, currently this one is only a Beta ROM.

What are the changes into this?
Company has provided the change-log for the new changes and features into this ROM that include deep-level system optimizations, new icons, new animations for launching and exiting apps, simpler home screen editing, split screen, improved silent mode triggered by the volume button and improved readability for the start page of Messaging.

Which Android Version MIUI 9 is on currently?
Currently it's running on Android Nougat.

How to Upgrade to MIUI 9 Beta ROM?
Follow the steps-
  • Back up your data before upgrading MIUI 9 ROM.
  • Simply download your ROM from Xiaomi forum for your device and follow the steps of this guide to install.
MIUI 9 Beta ROM supported devices?
Currently it's only supported or available for Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4X & Xiaomi Mi6.
